Patara Williams, MHSA

Patara Williams serves as Director for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion for DUHS. She provides support and direction for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging efforts. Previous to this role, Patara was an Administrative Fellow at Duke University Hospital for two years. Prior to her time at Duke, Patara supported diversity and inclusion efforts at both Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and John Hopkins Medicine. In addition to her DE&I experience, Patara brings significant process improvement and project management skills to the role. She is a certified Green Belt and is currently working to receive her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. She earned her BS from Baylor University and her MS in Health Services Administration from Xavier University.


As the organization prioritizes DE&I work in 2021 and beyond, Patara continues to help the organization clearly define its work in this space, establish the infrastructure to refine our plans and focus, and develop solutions that will help create a lasting impact and sustained cultural change.
